The Nepal Table Foosball Association (NTFA), in collaboration with the International Table Soccer Federation, is proudly implementing the "100 Foosball Tables for School Project" across Nepal as part of its long-term vision to promote inclusive sports development, youth engagement, and social integration through table soccer.
This initiative focuses on introducing foosball as an educational and therapeutic sport in schools and special learning centers, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity for neurodivergent children. The program is designed not only to develop sporting skills but also to enhance concentration, coordination, social interaction, and emotional well-being among students.
Through the initial phase of the program, NTFA has successfully reached three neurodivergent-focused educational institutions, positively impacting more than 350 students across Nepal. Foosball tables have been donated and actively integrated into daily learning and recreational activities in the following institutions: Shishu Bikas Kendra, Amarjyoti Boarding School (Special Children School Division), and Navjyoti Kendra.
At these centers, foosball has quickly become more than just a sport. It is being used as a structured activity tool to support cognitive development, teamwork, patience, and motor skill improvement. Teachers and caregivers have reported strong engagement levels among students and noticeable improvements in interaction and focus during structured play sessions.
The NTFA Inclusive Foosball Program is built on the belief that sports should be accessible to everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive ability. By integrating foosball into school environments, NTFA aims to: Promote inclusive sports participation for neurodivergent children. Support cognitive and social development through structured play. Introduce table soccer as a school-level developmental sport. Create safe and engaging recreational spaces within educational institutions. Build a nationwide grassroots foundation for table soccer in Nepal.
Following the successful implementation of the initial phase, NTFA is now preparing to scale the 100 Foosball Tables for School Project across all provinces of Nepal. The expansion plan includes collaboration with schools, special education centers, community learning programs, and youth development organizations.
The long-term objective is to ensure that foosball becomes a widely accessible developmental sport in Nepalese schools, reaching both mainstream and special education systems. NTFA envisions a future where every child, including neurodivergent learners, has access to structured sports activities that support both learning and personal growth.
NTFA extends its sincere gratitude to partner institutions, educators, caregivers, and the ITSF for their continuous support in making this initiative possible. The association remains committed to expanding inclusive sports opportunities and building a stronger, more connected foosball community in Nepal.
The 100 Foosball Tables for School Project represents a significant step toward using sport as a tool for inclusion, empowerment, and education- laying the foundation for a more inclusive sporting future in Nepal.
